Anna Pugh online Exhibition

The Art and Horse Racing Fine Art Gallery in conjunction with The Lucy B Campbell Gallery is delighted to announce our online exhibition of Anna Pugh paintings spanning the arc of her career from the earlier works to present day showing the apex of her incomparably unique and wonderful style.

Over the impressive length of her career Anna’s paintings have been much sought after and are treasured pieces in private collections throughout the world. Rarely have her works come back into circulation.

Anna’s paintings have that innate quality of drawing the viewer in to a narrative within the painting; larger than life animals frolic in surreal landscapes steeped with oversized blossoms and capering insect, and characters caught in a moment. We, the observer, are being treated to a glimpse of an unfolding story.

Her paintings, like those of Rousseau and Chagall, show the natural world enlivened by touches of the surreal.

About Anna Pugh

Anna Pugh is one of England's leading British artists. Born in 1938, and based in Slaugham, West Sussex, Anna is admired as a colourist and storyteller. In over thirty years she has produced over three hundred paintings, all in private collections in Great Britain, Europe, and America.

Few artists equal Anna's ability to record natural phenomena and to invigorate it with such persuasive illusion and her international following is testimony to this. Anna's paintings have the freshness and irreverent vitality of life lived close to nature. They are paintings that people enjoy living with, recording the countryside, the flora and fauna with humour and at times, poignancy.
