Heidi Lichterman

Born in America in 1941, moved to England in 1981. 

Known for her textile art, she has been a professional weaver for forty five years weaving large wall hangings for corporate and public spaces. Commissions include works for the Volvo headquarters in Marlow U.K., Queen's College Cambridge, Stamford Towers in Connecticut to name a few.


"Art for me is about discovery: I paint the large flowers slowly, letting my soul go into the heart of the flower as if I were a bee. The petals are strong enough to support me even though they may be translucent. I can travel into the flower and feel surrounded by it. Working on this large scale changes the way I view the world."
