Beatrice, a Fine and Sporting oil painter, specializes in rural subject matter. Her work elegantly dovetails the traditional and contemporary. By combining the techniques of the Old Masters along with her own, she creates a sense of timeless gravitas in her work.
Based in Hampshire, her work is quintessentially English, driven by her fascination of pastoral scenes and the transience and nuance of light. With a BA in History, she applies an interdisciplinary approach to her painting by academically studying painting techniques of the Old Masters and principles of the Picturesque (which are focussed on conveying the complexity of nature), in order to bring a sensitivity and atmosphere to her work.
