Taking place at Ragley Hall from July 25–27, The Game Fair is the UK’s leading celebration of country pursuits, drawing tens of thousands of enthusiasts each year. This summer, it welcomes a special selection from Ilka’s gallery, located at her working training yard, Saint Wendred’s, in the historic home of horseracing.
Set against the backdrop of live thoroughbreds in motion, the gallery offers a rare fusion of equine excellence and artistic expression. As one of the UK’s only full-time racehorse trainers who is also a qualified vet, Ilka brings a distinctive perspective, blending her deep knowledge of animal welfare with a passion for visual storytelling.
“I love art and I want to show some of my favourite artists alongside the real thing—the horses we train every day,” Ilka says. “This is art that makes you feel good.”
Reflecting the spirit of The Game Fair, its respect for tradition, craftsmanship and rural life, the exhibition will feature:
Sculptures in bronze and wood by acclaimed artists Veda Hallows, Priscilla Hann, and master carver Julian Stanley.
Evocative paintings and mixed media works by celebrated national and international talents including Tania Still, Brooke Major, Dawn Reader, Diana Cook, Marco Ramasso, Bénédicte Gele, and Jackie Hardman.
By bringing this vibrant collection to a wider, outdoors-loving audience, Ilka aims to deepen appreciation for the beauty of natural forms and the spirit of the countryside, uniting art lovers, collectors and rural enthusiasts under one roof.
